About Asian Gourmet Kitchen

Asian Gourmet Kitchen is a casual Chinese restaurant located at 1005 Blalock Rd, Houston, TX, offering a variety of dishes in the $10–20 price range. The restaurant is known for its generous portion sizes, making meals suitable for multiple servings. Customers appreciate the affordability and solid quality of the food, with some noting that it compares favorably to popular chain options.

The service is generally efficient but can be slow during busy times, and staffing levels may sometimes feel inadequate for the number of customers. The ambiance is straightforward and cafeteria-style, focusing on convenience rather than upscale dining. The selection covers a broad range of typical Chinese dishes, with standout items like shrimp and certain dim sum options receiving mixed feedback. Overall, Asian Gourmet Kitchen appeals to those seeking economical, filling meals without emphasis on fine dining.

Wow you get a lot of decent quality Chinese food for a very cheap price. One serving will actually last you for two meals. It’s not the best food and the best ambiance but it’s pretty tasty, convenient and very very affordable.

An incredible value for solid Chinese food. Good food, enormous portions, and very inexpensive. We were quickly served a heaping pile of orange chicken, fried rice, and chow mein for $8.99. It was enough for 2 people to get full. Service is about what you would expect from an Asian restaurant so no complaints there - they got the job done well and efficiently. They are very popular around lunch time so it can get quite busy. The food was good especially for the value, but definitely not the best versions of the dishes I've had. I preferred this food to Panda express and it rivals Pei Wei in quality. Definitely recommend this place if you want some solid Chinese food at an incredible value.

We were on our way out of town and wanted to go to Chinatown for dim sum, but didn't have time before our flight. We were headed to 85C when we saw 99 Ranch Market and were happy to find this place. The ha gao and shui mai were so-so, but the sesame balls and sugar cane shrimp were outstanding.

I appreciate the dining experience here—the food is affordably priced and there's a good variety to choose from. The service is commendable as well. However, I found the pancake a bit tough to chew, which is something that could be improved upon.

The main reason I come here is to get discounted box meal at 7pm. The food court offers $3.89 box lunch (2 entree with rice) around closing time. The selection of food choices is always limited because the food court is closing but it's an awesome deal! The staff piles on the food.

This is a no frills cafeteria style place with solid dim sum at a really good price. The staff service is a bit slow.

I ate here today and honestly had a great experience! I ordered the fried noodles, orange chicken, and pork chop pepper. Everything is flavorful, and way better than I expected, especially considering their current rating. The food was delicious and the portions were generous!
